Ernie FossaOwner and Studio Director
Ernie has been teaching Pilates since 2004. He received his Pilates Certificate from the renowned Kane School of Core Integration known for its anatomical and biomechanical approach to fitness. He is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance, (PMA), and experienced in both classical and contemporary Pilates. Ernie also holds certificates in Gyrotonics including the Gyrotonic Tower Expansion System and Jumping and Stretching Board. He's also certified to teach the Core Align. Ernie created the Gramercy Pilates Teacher Training Program with an integrated approach to anatomy, biomechanics and movement in mind. This integrated approach has facilitated the learning process for prospective Pilates teachers and allowed them to focus more on the reality of teaching. The program offers a classical choreography foundation with a contemporary approach to anatomy and biomechanics and provides indepth knowledge of why exercises work for a variety of clients including those with medical conditions and physical restrictions. .
Tommy ReichlingOwner and Studio Director
Tommy brings over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness fields as both a Pilates Teacher and Personal Training Specialist. Tommy created the Gramercy Pilates NYC Teacher Training Program. He also founded and created the Gramercy Pilates Institute. He obtained his formal Pilates Teaching Education through the Kane School of Core Integration and his certificate of Health/Fitness Personal Training Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). As a fitness professional, he has extensive rehabilitation and injury prevention experience working in several Physical Therapy Clinics. He is also a certified Boxing and Kickboxing Instructor with competitive ring experience and has prepared several athletes for competition in Football, Hockey, Kickboxing and Baseball. He is a graduate of Columbia University, where he received a degree in Economics, as well as a minor in Pre-Physical Therapy.
Kim FieldingDirector of Teacher Training
Kim Fielding holds a certificate in both Balanced Body and The Method Pilates. She has been in the fitness industry for 25 years and has been teaching Pilates for over 10 of those years. She received her B.A. in Psychology and did a Master’s program at Springfield College in Health Promotion/ Wellness Management with advanced study in Counseling. She was a teacher in the Mind Body Fitness training program with other faculty members including Lesley Powell, Doris Pasteleur-Hall and Dr. Martha Eddy at Movements Afoot. She taught the Pilates repertoire and question & answer program to go along with the Physical Mind Institute, The Method Pilates certificate. She also taught students Balanced Body Pilates Repertoire on a weekly basis. She has specialized training in MS and Parkinson’s disease, Somatics, Laban and Bartenieff Fundamentals. Fielding studied in the Somatic Movement Teacher Training program, Dynamic Embodiment, with Dr. Martha Eddy.
Viktoryia KukandzinaExpert Pilates Teacher
Born and raised in Belarus, Viktoryia moved to New York in 2012 as a professional runway model. She got into pilates in 2015 and successfully completed Gramercy Pilates Comprehensive Teacher Training Program. While in the program she developed good observational skills and built a deep understanding of balanced body development. Ever since her main focus was on Posture and Body Alignment. She is PMA certified pilates teacher, health coach, professional runway model and holds BA in Accounting and Logistics from Belarussian University of Transport.
Desi ChevallierExpert Pilates Teacher
Desi discovered Pilates a few years ago and after taking classes regularly, her chronic lower back pain disappeared and her core strengthened. She now swears by the Pilates method and aspires to help more people discover the power of a balance and contrology. Desi’s classes are focused on proper alignment, creativity and having fun. Rest assured, no class goes without a plank. Desi wants to be part of her students’ journey to freedom of movement and feeling stronger and better. Desi obtained her Pilates certification at Gramercy Pilates and is also PMA Certified Pilates teacher. She works as a consultant in the financial industry and holds an MBA from NYU.
Helen MangoExpert Pilates Teacher
Helen Mango began her Pilates journey 15 years ago as a participant. Her love of Pilates slowly grew into a passion and her decision to become a Pilates Teacher took flight two years ago. Helen researched other studios, she chose Gramercy because of its strong Teacher Training Philosophy. Helen believes that the best students of Pilates are those that really have a love of the technique and want to be continually challenged and also believe in a healthy lifestyle. Helen is married to the artist, Robert Mango and has worked and lived in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York all of her adult life. While raising her two, now grown, children, Helen worked at the non-profit organization Manhattan Youth. Helen looks forward to beginning a new career as a Pilates instructor at Gramercy.
Yuki HasegawaExpert Pilates Teacher
Yuki is a Pilates instructor, contemporary dance choreographer, and Thai Yoga Practitioner. She had performed professionally in musical theaters as a dancer in Tokyo for 7 years before she moved to NY in 1998. She obtained her MA in Dance and Dance Education at NYU, and was certified in Pilates through Kane School of Core Integration where she had taught as an expert instructor for 5 years. Currently, she teaches Teachers Training Programs at Gramercy Pilates. She is also a faculty member at Peridance Capezio Center, and teaches Pilates to many dancers all over the world.
Jessica Solorzano-PetersonLicensed Massage Therapis / Thai Massage
Jessica is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate of Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences specializing in Deep Tissue and Thai Massage. She has worked with private clients and spa clients with injuries, limited flexibility, and muscle tension.
MacKenzie TaylorPilates Teacher
Mackenzie discovered Pilates in college while studying for her BA in Theater and Dance. She was immediately drawn to the emphasis on somatic and anatomical principles and enjoyed the challenge of discovering how our numerous muscle groups move to support each other. She began the Gramercy Pilates NYC Teacher Training program when she moved to NY so that she can learn how to help people through her practice. Whether it is recovering from injuries, chronic pain, or simply getting stronger, she believes Pilates has so many uses in our everyday lives. When she’s not in the studio you can find her in the climbing gym, teaching kids and adults how to apply some of these principles on the climbing wall.
